Open to dancers entering grades 8 – 12 in Fall 2024, the Teens@Graham Summer Intensive provides dancers with an exciting program anchored in Graham Technique with additional offerings across many disciplines. Classes are taught by experienced dance professionals, including former and current Martha Graham Company dancers!

Teens@Graham Summer Intensive classes are held in-person at the Creative Cultural Center at St. Veronica’s in Greenwich Village, New York City. Click here for location information and directions.

OUR CLASSES

Levels I + II

The Martha Graham Technique is based on the core power of Graham’s signature contraction and release. The Technique promotes strength, stamina, and self-expression and serves as a foundation for excellence in many styles of dance.

Ballet training at the Graham School is adapted for individual student abilities. Classes are structured to enhance and support the study of the Martha Graham Technique.

Classes build upon Graham Technique and encourage dancers to explore the connections between this class approach and post-modern styles.

Repertory introduces students to Graham’s classic choreography to gain a deeper understanding of her expressive style as well as practice in valuable performance techniques.

This exploration of dance-making guides students in creating movement phrases, discovering their own artistic voice, and developing a personal toolbox of choreographic techniques using Graham repertory as a source of inspiration.

Each Friday, students enrolled in Package B will engage in enrichment masterclasses aimed to enhance their experience in the world of the performing arts and introduce them to a broad palette of techniques and genres. Programming includes special classes, conversations with professionals, and much more!
